InnerSea Discoveries Alaska websiteSunstone Tours & Cruises announces an exciting new cruise product for Alaska in 2011.

InnerSea Discoveries, parent company of luxury yacht cruise line American Safari Cruises, will be offering small-group wilderness adventure voyages in wildlife-rich Southeast Alaska. Two expedition vessels, the 170-foot, 49-guest Wilderness Discoverer and the 157-foot, 49-guest Wilderness Adventurer, are the foundation for the moderately priced cruises that provide experiential adventures for young-minded travelers of any age who may want to push themselves physically or simply relax and enjoy the view. Guests are given the option of activity level, from challenging hiking and paddle boarding to beachcombing, shore boat excursions and kayaking.

At day’s end, guests are pampered by an all-American crew, on-deck hot tub and view saunas, optional massage, exceptional meals of fresh, local ingredients, and comfortable staterooms that feature Tempur-pedic mattresses, iPod docking stations and private facilities with showers. Both boats will undergo extensive renovations during the next several months.

Typical included activities are hikes of varying length and difficulty; snorkeling; whale-watching; birding; polar bear club swims; glacier viewing; yoga sessions and naturalist-led discussions. Optional add-ons at additional cost include river kayaking and jet-boat excursions; fishing with expert guides from a fully outfitted boat; glacier floatplane tours; cave exploration; and overnight wilderness hiking, kayaking and camping ashore.
