New 2013 Itineraries for National Geographic Explorer

Lindblad Expeditions today announced new 2013 itineraries for the National Geographic Explorer. These itineraries extend the exploration in the Arctic.

A Circumnavigation of Iceland: Achieve a full circumnavigation of Iceland guided by our naturalists. View Europe’s largest ice cap, navigate the volcanic Westman Islands, and explore hot springs, boiling mud pots and thundering Godafoss Waterfall.
• Departs July 10, 2013
• Rates begin at $7,990 per person based on double occupancy.

Along the Viking Trail: From Iceland to Greenland: Hike, Zodiac and kayak Iceland’s Westfjord Region and Greenland’s east coast. Explore the Viking sites settled by Erik The Red 500 years before Columbus and meet the friendly Greenlanders who maintain their traditional lifestyle.

• Rates begin at $9,620 per person based on double occupancy.

Arctic Quest: Greenland and The Canadian High Arctic: An in-depth exploration of the far reaches of the Arctic, a land where polar bears roam, walruses loll, and hardy Inuit communities maintain their traditional way of life. Visit two UNESCO sites: The Inuit village of Sermermiut and Ilulissat Icefjord. Explore Uummannaq, the site of Greenland’s impressive mummy find.
