Pearl Mist Sets Sail — Finally

Pearl MistThis past Tuesday, the Pearl Mist boarded its first passengers, readying for Wednesday’s maiden voyage on a New England cruise.

The ship is the first for Pearl Seas Cruises, a subsidiary of American Cruise Lines. And the inaugural was years in the making. The ship was original ordered in 2006, with delivery set in 2008. But legal problems with the original shipbuilder kept the ship tied up in the courts until 2013. The ship was then sent to Chesapeake Shipbuilding yard for finishing.

The all-suite Pearl Mist accommodates 210 guests and sails itineraries to the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Seaway, Canadian Maritimes, New England and the Caribbean. Cabins are large, with 302 square feet as the minimum. Virtually everything is included, from gourmet dining to beverages.
