The M/V Victory II is an elegant small ship, designed specifically to cruise along magnificent coastlines, journey through seaways and inland lakes, and navigate hidden harbors to access more remote ports of call. Built to resemble classic coastal steamers, the size of this vessel allows the ship to visit ports that bigger ships cannot. Carrying only 202 passengers on each cruise, the limited capacity allows the personnel aboard the ship the opportunity to provide non-stop superior service from beginning to end.
Sister ship of the M/V Victory I, the M/V Victory II’s recent muti-milliondollar makeover brings modern classic elegance to the waterways that she sails. With rich woods, custom fabrics and classic furnishings, the feel of this ship is refined yet modern with its own unique style.
Onboard, fresh, modern design tips its hat to our maritime past as spacious, open-air lounges, inviting dining venues, and generous windows ensure you never miss a chance to savor the view. You will enjoy unspoiled beauty only accessible from a coastal cruiser as you glide smoothly through the special harbors and lakes of the birthplace of America.
M/V Victory II History
The M/V Victory II was built in 2004 by Atlantic Marine (shipyard Jacksonville Florida / now BAE Systems Southeast Florida). Launched for American Classic Voyages as Cape Cod Light, she was designed to cruise the U.S. East Coast, Maritime Canada and into the St. Lawrence River and Seaway, as well as Central America. Cape Cod Light sailed for Delta Queen Coastal Voyages, a brand under American Classic Voyages, from April to October 2004. When American Classic Voyages filed for bankruptcy in October 2004, Cape Cod Light was laid up until being renamed Coastal Queen 2 by new owners International Shipping Partners. In March 2009, Discoverer Owner LLC took ownership and renamed her Clipper Discovery. Later in 2009, Delta Queen Steamboat Co. Inc. became the registered owner and renamed the ship Coastal Queen 2. In 2011, ownership was transfered to Clipper Cruises of Miami, Florida. During this time, the ship was laid up and used as an accommodation ship. In 2015, the ship was renamed Sea Discoverer. In 2017, the ship was obtained by Victory Cruise Lines, renamed the M/V Victory II, and performed a muti-milliondollar makeover in preparation of a full sailing schedule in 2018.
